Julia Ann Parrott was the daughter of Thomas Parrott's 1823 – 1894 second wife Harriet Ann Hudgins 1841 – 1900. By the time she was born she had 8 half siblings. Her full siblings were:
John Clarke Parrott 1865 – 1939; Thomas Eaton Parrott 1871 – 1918; Lucinda Parrott 1873 – 1873; Riley Parrott 1874 – 1918; Reuben D Parrott 1877 – 1910; David C Parrott 1879 – 1946; Minnie B Parrott 1879 – 1879; Albert Hugh Parrott 1882 – 1966 and C E Parrott 1885.

In 1880, Julia's father was farm laborer, She was no longer going to school.

On August 11, 1894 Julia's father Tomas Parrott passed away, and before the census was taken in 1900 her mother passed away. When the census was taken Julia was living in Civil District 5, Anderson, Tennessee. She was 30 years old, single, and the head if the house. Her two brothers were supporting the family working as farm laborers. Living with them was a 16 year old nephew, William Parrott.

In 1901 Julie gave birth to a baby girl, Irene Parrott. The father of this little girl has yet to be determined. There is no evidence of Julie being married at the time of her birth.

In 1910, Julie and Irene were living in Coal Creek, Anderson, Tennessee, at 211 Jacksboro Streer. A niece, 24 year old Maggie Parrott was living with her. Julie was supporting them by doing laundry.

Sometime between 1910 and 1920 Julie got married. From a Family History Library Film Number 1876901, It was confirmed that her spouse's name was Joe Adkins. Joe Adkins died on Sept 13, 1922, in Coal Creek, and is buried in the Leach Cemetery,Lake City, Anderson County, Tennessee, Find a Grave #8736159.
