Emma Lucille Gladney was born November 21, 1922 to James and Maudie Gladney in Marion Arkansas. The family later moved to Kosciusko, Mississippi. Ms Emma gave her life to Christ at an early age where she joined Little Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Emma loved to sing. She was a member of the adult choir. Her favorite songs were "Precious Lord" and "When You Hear My Horn Blowing, Don't Worry About Me." Her favorite hobbies were gardening and sewing. She loved spending time with family.
She married Vernon Cross. To this union, Thirteen children were born, six daughters and seven sons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Cross and two daughters: Emma Griffin and Bessie Bowie.
Emma leaves to cherish her memories four daughters: Helen Manning, Vera & Alethea Cross, and Hazel Pierson (James); seven sons: Lucious, Willie (Karen), Jimmy (Pearl), Clarence (Roxanne), Narbin, Urban (Barbara) and Jerry (Reatha); 47 grandchildren, 96 great grand-children and 33 great-great-grandchildren; two sisiters: Peggy Wytch and Alice Ward (Ulysses); two brothers: Lavern Gladney (Helen) and Robert Gladney (Mamie); along with a host of brother-in-laws, sister-in laws, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family Hour- Friday, 10/25/2013 from 5-6 p.m. at Winters Funeral Home, Kosciusko, MS.
Services- Saturday, 10/26/2013 @ 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill M.B. Church, Kosciusko, MS.
Repast- Pleasant Hill M.B. Church Fellowship Hall, Kosciusko, MS.
Interment- Pleasant Hill M.B. Church Cemetery, Kosciusko, MS.

Funeral services for Emma L. Cross, 90, of Kosciusko will be held Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill M.B. Church with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
She died Oct. 18, 2013 at the Attala County Nursing Center.
Family hour will be held Friday, 5-6 p.m. at Winters Funeral Home and viewing 10-10:45 Saturday at the church.
