Born in Saluda County, he was the son of Mattie Frances Black Neal and the late Bennie Neal . Mr. Neal served three years in the U.S. Army, eight years in the SC National Guard, and was a heavy equipment operator.
Surviving is his mother, Mattie Frances Black Neal of Saluda, three brothers, Robert L. Neal of Saluda, James Michael Neal of Waterloo and George William Neal of Batesburg and a sister, Donna N. Rinehart of Saluda.
A sister, Brenda Faye Neal , preceded Mr. Neal in death.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Saturday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2008, at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Travis Park Cemetery.
