Catherine Mansfield "Tinkie" Ashe Maloy paway Monday, November 4, 2013 at age 87. She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Maloy, Sr.; mother, Jennie B. Ashe; father, Edward J. Ashe; and sisters Jane A. Gettys and Isabel A. Bonnyman. She was a Knoxville native born October 21, 1926 and grew up on old Melrose Place in the University area. She was a graduate of Knoxville High School, attended Georgetown Junior College and was a graduate of the University of Tennessee where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Tinkie and her husband Jim were founding members of Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Church. A self-described joiner, she served on the Boards of the Knoxville Chapter of the American Red Cross, Catholic Social Services, Columbus Home, Knoxville Symphony, and the Knoxville Garden Club. She was also a member of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, Tennessee Regent Gunston Hall, Garden Club of America, Junior League of Knoxville, Cherokee Country Club, and longtime volunteer with the Girls Scouts and at FISH Hospitality Pantry.
