Maude Pauline (Berry) Ellis is buried at the New Florence Cemetery, New Florence, MO and her memorial # is 84249116. Per the 1930 US Federal Census Claude was 52 yrs old and he was married to Florence A. Berry who was 38 yrs old. Claude and Florence had one child: Ruth J. Berry who was 9 yrs old in 1930. Per the 1940 US Federal Census Ruth is 19 yrs old; single; and daughter of Claude P. Berry who was a lodger in the household of William Hartman.
Per Death Certificate #2637: Claude Perrin Berry was pronounced DOA at St. Lukes Hospital, St. Louis, MO on January 2, 1958. Claude was born on July 8, 1877 and died at the age of 80 years old. Claude was widowed; had been a lawyer for Thompson, Mitchell & Young; and was retired at the time of his death. Claude was born in Carsonville, (unincorporated place in St. Louis County, MO) to "Clark Berry" and "Virginia Patterson". Claude fought in the Spanish American War. Claude and the informant, Mrs. Ruth Roth, were living at 3447 Ashby Road, St. Ann, St. Louis County, MO. Claude was attended from 1940-1958 and was last seen alive on December 28, 1957. The registrar was J. "Earl Smith, M.D. Claude was buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, High Hill, MO.

Spa Resident's Mother Dies
Mrs. Jamie [obit is incorrect - s/b "Janie"] Berry of Butler, mother of Mrs. Gertrude Stackhouse of Excelsior Springs, died September 30 in a rest home in Butler, the family has reported. She was 86. Services were held Saturday, October 3 in Butler and burial was at the Butler Memorial cemetery. Mrs. Berry was born in Garden City, Mo., the daughter of William and Amanda Durrett. She was married to Frank Barkley who died in 1955 and later married Claude Berry who died in 1958. She was a member of the Christian Church of Butler.
She is survived by three sons, Walter Barkley and Fred Barkley of Oregon, and Clay Barkley of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Stackhouse, Excelsior, and Mrs. Leta Stark, Adrian, Mo.; two brothers, three sisters, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
