Robert Leon Harsin, 77, of 804 Saddletree Lane, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at The Waters of Clifty Falls.

He was born May 25, 1924, in Madison, the son of Hobert and Elma R. King Harsin.

He was a retired union laborer for Labor Local 795, a past member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Lodge, an active member of the Democratic Party and a member of the Church of Christ at Madison. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Mary C. Harsin; a son, James R. Harsin of Madison; a sister, Reba Buchanan of Radcliff, Ky.; two brothers, Jack Harsin of Carrollton, Ky., and Norman Harsin of Salt Lake City, Utah; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and a sister.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lytle-Gans Funeral Home with burial in Moffett Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion, Jefferson Post 9.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Church of Christ at Madison. Cards will be available at the funeral home.
