VERNETTE M. AUMANN
Mrs. John (Vernette M.) Aumann, age 78, of 5412 Sampe Road, Manitowoc, entered
eternal life on Monday evening, Dec. 29, 2008, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center,
Manitowoc, where she had resided the past several days.
Vernette was born on March 20, 1930, in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the
late Vernon and Dorothy (Stuesser) Schroeder. Vernette was a graduate of Lincoln
High School, Manitowoc, with the class of 1948. In past years she was employed
with Mirro Aluminum. On Oct. 1, 1949, she married John D. Aumann at Holy Innocents
Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Vernette was a member of the Machinist Local Union
516 Auxiliary where she had served as treasurer and recording secretary for many
years. Vernette loved to spend time in her garden, she enjoyed canning, knitting
and needle point, along with cooking and baking for her family.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years: John; three sons and a daughter-in-law:
three granddaughters; special cousin (private); along with other relatives and
friends. She was preceded in death by one brother: Kenneth Schroeder.
Private memorial services for the family will be held on Friday afternoon, Jan. 2,
2009, at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel, 612 N. Water St., Manitowoc.
Officiating will be Deacon Paul Kieffer, with burial of the cremains to take place
at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc at a later date.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, 628 N. Water St., Manitowoc,
is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
