Samuel Givens Bryson, 76, an early day Island district settler, died in a Loma Linda hospital.

Bryson was born in Colorado and moved with his parents to Eastern Oregon in 1893. In 1907 he came to the newly settled Island district in Kings County, California, where he farmed for many years. He married Miss Marie Foster in 1909. Mrs. Bryson died in 1934 in Lemoore, California.

For the last few years Bryson made his home with a son, Elmer, who was a student in the College of the Medical Evangelists in Loma Linda, California.

Samuel was survived by six sons, Elmer J., Samuel F., Frank L., Alva R., Paul R. and Burton C. Bryson; two daughters, Alice M. Wilson and Dorothy Grace Winterburg; three brothers, Guy, James K., and Ernest Bryson; four sisters, Mrs. Ida Wilbur, Mrs. Della Graves, Mrs. Grace E. Dethridge and Edith C. Weber, and seven grandchildren.
