Gary Lee Brown, 67, of Bena, MN, died Monday, August 9, 2010 at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.
Memorial Services will be 1:00 pm Friday, August 13, 2010 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cass Lake, MN with Rev. Alan Wierschke officiating under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Cass Lake.
He was raised and educated in Galva, Iowa graduating from Galva High School in 1958 and spent a year in Business College in Omaha, Nebraska.
He married Janet Levin on October 7, 1962 in Galva, Iowa. He worked in Sioux City, Iowa for five years at Avco Finance and at Max Rosenstock Company for 9 years. Gary and Jan purchased McArdle's Resort in 1979 and operated it for 28 years. They sold the resort to their son Craig and his wife Paige in 2007. Gary and Jan enjoyed spending time at their Green Valley, AZ home in the winter and at the resort in the summer for the last three years. He loved Fishing, Golfing, Hunting and Travel. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Cass Lake.
He is survived by his wife–Janet. He is also survived by their four sons- Curt and wife Jan, Carey and wife Sonja, Craig and wife Paige, Chad and wife Heidi. His 7 grandchildren – Andrew, Natalie, Nicole, Matthew, Nate, Parker and Carter. His 2 brothers- Rodney and wife Dina, Doyle and wife Karen. Also several nieces and nephews.
