Obituary
Samuel James
LONACONING, April 10
Funeral services for Samuel James, 74, retired miner, who died Monday night in Miners' Hospital, Frostburg, after an illness of several months, were held this afternoon at the residence on Church Street by Rev. John E. Stacks, pastor of First Methodst Church. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The Junior Order of United American Mechanics Council, of which he was a member, conducted rites at the home last night.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Jessie (MacMillan) James, five daughters, Mrs. Jennie Smith, Mrs. Anna Myers and Miss Florence James, all of Lonnconing; Mrs. Alice Bahen, Frostburg, and Mrs. Emma Blibeck, Akron; three sons, William James, Dundalk; Samuel James Jr. Pittsburgh, and Melvin James, Midland, and a brother, Walter M. James, Orlando, Florida.

Samuel had been sick and after his wife went inside, he took a razor and slashed his throat. She heard him fall and went back onto the porch, by the time they got him to the hospital, it was too late.
