Dr. Alton J. Ball, Sr., 70, died September 2, 1983 at his home in Columbus. He was born in Caldwell January 15, 1913 to the late Joseph D. and Phoebe Bates Ball.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; a daughter and son of Columbus, a son of N. Carolina, a daughter of Grosse Point, Mich. and a son of New York, N.Y. and two grandchildren.

Dr. Ball received his B.A. from Marietta College, M.A. from Ohio State University, and his M.D. from Hahnemann Medical College. He was a high school teacher and coach and a family practitioner in New Lexington. He was also associated with the Ohio Corrections System.

Services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at the Schoediner Northwest Chapel in Columbus. Interment was made at Union Cemetery, Columbus with the Rev. Eugene Frazer officiating. The family has asked that donations be given to a favorite charity in remembrance of Dr. Ball.
