Oxford - Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Bowling Birchfield, 78, of Oxford, will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2013, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with the Reverend Trull Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends from noon until the service hour on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Birchfield passed away on November 6, 2013. Mrs. Birchfield worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She was an artist and loved to paint. Mrs. Birchfield was preceded in death by her parents, Louie R. Bowling and Catherine Reaves Bowling; her son, Rodney Glenn Birchfield; and her brother, Louie R. Bowling Jr.. Mrs. Birchfield is survived by her husband, William C. Birchfield Jr. of Oxford; a son, William C. Birchfield III, of Columbus, Ga.; her sisters, Maryanne Whitmore, of Willis, Texas, and Susie Hall and her husband, Ronnie, of Oxford; her brothers, Robert Paul Bowling and his wife, Betty, of Duluth, Ga., and Roy (Butch) Bowling and his wife, Debbie, of Holly Pond; six grandchildren, Jason, Chris, and Cody Birchfield, Brooklyn Birchfield, Callie Gardiner, and Brittany Birchfield; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Hanna and his staff, Alacare Hospice, and Mrs. Birchfield's friend and caregiver, Betty Hollingsworth, for the loving care they provided.
