Franziska E. Altenhofen, 90, Augusta, passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013.

Rosary 6 p.m. Wednesday at Headley Funeral Chapel, with visitation following until 8 p.m. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at St. James Catholic Church, Augusta. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Augusta.

Franziska was born in Körrig, Germany on May 6, 1923, to the late Barbara (Schuh) and Johann Peter Lutz. She was a homemaker. On Nov. 14, 1946 in Ayl, Germany she married Franz Altenhofen. He preceded her in death in 1991.

She is survived by: sons, Joe Altenhofen (Billie) of Leon, and Gary Altenhofen (Jeri Brown) of Augusta; daughters, Betty Mitchell (Steve) of Augusta, Sue Benton (Bud) of Augusta; brother, Emil Lutz of Saarburg, Germany; sisters, Sanni Madert of Saarbug, Germany, Anchen Deppe of Saarburg, Germany, Maria Schneider, of Körrig, Germany, Leni Sauerwein, of Wichita; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.

Memorial donations to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice 313 S. Market Wichita, Kansas 67202.
