Millard L. "Lindy" Wallace, 85, of Hellam Township, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehab Center. He was the husband of Freda (Thoman) Wallace. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace observed their 65th wedding anniversary on April 9, 2013.
Millard was born in Delroy, on January 5, 1928, the son of the late Mark H. and Wilhelmina (Diem) Wallace.
His work history includes being a pretzel maker with Nabisco, a welder with the former A. B. Farquhar Company, and an employee at New Era Die of Red Lion. Lindy was a 1946 graduate of William Penn Senior High School and attended Wrightsville Assembly of God.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, Millard is survived by four children, Bruce M. Wallace and wife, Loyal of York, Stephen Wallace and wife, Cheryl of Casper, Wyo., Lois Fauth and husband, Bruce of Richmond, Va., and Rebecca Aubel of York; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2013, at Wrightsville Assembly of God, 365 Orange St., Wrightsville. Officiating will be Pastor Aaron S. McNatt. Burial will be in Canadochly Cemetery. A viewing will be 12 noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wrightsville Assembly of God, 365 Orange St., Wrightsville, PA 17368; or AseraCare Hospice 44 Bowman Road, York, PA 17408. Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service of York is in charge of arrangements.
