Mr. Park graduated from Nyack High School in 1948. During high school he played the trumpet in a combo with Joe Askew and Joe Wyant, performing on Friday and Saturday nights in a pub in Nyack.

Chippie served with the US Navy as a ground controller at various Naval air stations during the Korean War. He married Dorothy A. Sutton on February 12, 1955 in Nyack, New York. In 1956 they made station in San Diego, California, where their first child was born.

While in Roslyn Heights, New York, the family welcomed its second child. Some years later Mr. Park took a position with the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller and supervisor. He made his home in Elyria, Ohio, where he and his wife raised their two sons. He bravely battled MS and passed away far too early.
