Hazel E "Granny" Markin, 83, of Urbana, died at 3:50 pm Saturday, June 30, 2007. She was born Dec 13, 1923 in Cable, a daughter of Charles and Bertha (Kennedy) Kennedy.
She enjoyed assisting her daughter at the Woods Auction Company, where she was known to all as Granny.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years Ralph A Markin whom she married July 13, 1940, a daughter Judy Woods and her husband Jack E of Springfield; a son Phillip Markin of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Lisa Sparks and husband Rick of Springfield, Jack L Woods of Springfield, Renee and Ed Woodard of Springdale AR, Jeremy Markin of Fayetteville AR; great grandchildren, Jessica and Joshua Hart of Springfield, Joshua, Sara and Brittany Sparks of Springfield, Jackie Marie Woods of Dayton, Elizabeth Woodard of Springdale AR, Korey and Kelian Markin of Fayetteville AR; great grandchildren Maddisonne and Audri Hart of Springfield; two sisters Mary Holding and Ruth Goldsberry of Urbana; several nieces and nephews and her favorite dog PJ.
Preceded in death by a sister Viola Jordan and a brother Paul Kennedy.
