LISBON, MAINE — Mary Ann Picard, 63 of Lisbon affectionately known as "Mimi" passed away on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, after a three year courageous battle with breast cancer.

Mary was born in Fort Campbell, Ky., on July 23, 1950, the daughter of Olire and Martha Dionne. She attended Frankfurt American High School in Frankfurt, Germany. On March 8, 1969, she married the love of her life, Jeffrey and they have spent the last 45 years devoted to each other.

Her most treasured memories were of spending the holidays with family, traveling and playing bingo. She also enjoyed camping and fishing with Jeff and their dog, Zoey.

It is fitting that Mary would pass on Halloween as it was one of her favorite holidays, second only to Christmas. She enjoyed getting into Halloween costumes and handing out candy to all the children. At Christmas time, Mary and her sisters would put on the family Christmas party where she would perform her annual "I'm getting nothing for Christmas" skit while in full costume. This was always a family favorite.

In the last 10 years, Mary became quite the traveler. She visited Mexico with her sisters Linda and Jane; saw the Grand Canyon with her husband, Jeff, and sister Linda; she enjoyed a family vacation in Florida with Jeff, and her daughter, Pam, son Jeff and their families. This last April, she introduced Jeff to the world of cruising. Mary and Jeff were joined on their Caribbean Cruise by her sisters and many, many friends.

Together they made memories that will last a lifetime.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Picard; her daughter, Pamela and husband George Grant of Lisbon Falls; her son, Jeff Jr. and his wife Heather Picard of Lisbon; four grandchildren, Justin and Loren Grant and Elle and Bryce Picard; and sisters Linda French of Lisbon, Jane Farnum of Lisbon Falls and Joyce Larrabee of Monmouth.

She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Roland Dionne.

Mary will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
