Fern was born in Cushing, Oklahoma on April 20, 1923 to Frank and Ethel Flick Slater. She graduated from Cushing High School where she was Valedictorian of her class, and where she met her husband Edwin.
Fern's hobbies include crafts and working in the flower beds with her daughter Jane. She had a real love for animals and nursed many of them back to life. Her true joys in her life were her four children, where she was very active in their lives. She had a real soft spot in her heart for her grandchildren, she loved them all.
Fern is preceded in death by her husband Edwin Carrico of 53 years, her sons, John Julius and George Edwin Carrico and daughter, Jane Beth Wrigley.
Survivors include her daughter, Julia Franklin and husband Gary of Louisburg Kansas, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
