GREENVILLE, SC -- James McKinney Bruton, 83, of 226 11 East Augusta Place died Thursday, October 24, 2013. A native of Taylors, SC he was the widow of Addie Moore Bruton and son of the late T. C. Bruton and Etta Anderson Bruton. He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and attended the Central Congregation Kingdom Hall in Greenville, SC. He was retired as a truck driver with Pathmark Transportation. As a skilled driver he was a very proud truck rodeo winner. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Eyvonne Bruton Davis, Marie Bruton Williams, and Ida Bruton Wilson and three brothers, Andrew Bruton, David Bruton, T. C. Bruton. Survivors include one son, James E. (Jeanette) Bruton of Greenville, SC; two daughters, Linda Bruton Mayes of Mauldin, SC and Pastor Martha Ann Bruton (Sherwood) Evans of Greenville, SC; one sister, Henrietta Bruton (Richard) Moore of VA; two brothers, Frankie (Jean) Bruton and Albert (Mildred) Bruton both of Brooklyn, NY; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and his spiritual family. A memorial service will be held November 9, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
