Jimmy Perry Newman, 69, of Scottsville, KY died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at his residence. The Scottsville, KY native was a retired tool maker, farmer, member of Hickory Hill United Methodist Church where he had served as church treasurer and former Sunday School superintendant. He was a son of the late Perry Lee Newman and Lottie May Willoughby Newman.
He is survived by his wife: Linda M. Newman, Scottsville, KY;
1 son: David Newman and Clara Jane, Scottsville, KY;
1 daughter: Jimmie Lynn McElroy and husband, Jerry, Franklin, KY;
1 step son: Shane Phillips and wife, Gabby, Franklin, KY;
1 brother: Jerry Newman and wife, Sondra, Hendersonville, TN;
3 sisters: Mary Hollis Marcrum and JoAnn Donnafield and husband, Milton, all of Scottsville, KY; Helen Woods and husband, Harold, Portland, TN;
4 grandchildren: Justin Swindle, Beth Swindle, Lauren Newman and Alex Newman;
4 great grandchildren: Jayden Durham, Luke Durham, Avabella Hayes and Jack Hayes;
3 step grandchildren: Dariem Lopez, Dayanara Mendivil and Ashley Phillips.
He was preceded in death by 1 step son: Scott Phillips.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Maxie McGuffey and Bro. Bary Ray officiating and burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12 noon Monday at Goad Funeral Home.
