Mrs. Christian Kaehler suffered a stroke of paralysis last Friday evening and lingered until Monday evening when death came.

Mrs. Christian Kaehler was born in the Grand Dukedom of Oldenberg, Germany on the thirtieth day of March 1835. She came to the United States in 1856 and in 1857 the seventh day of August was married at Jamaica, New York. The fall of the same year she with her husband removed to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where they resided until 1881, when they went with a family of six children to Seattle, Wash. After two months residence in Seattle they came to Whidby Island where she spent the remainder of her life, she was the mother of twelve children of whom six survive her.

Mrs. Kaehler was a kind and loving mother, and by her gentle ways made hosts of friends. The funeral which took place yesterday afternoon was one of the largest attended held here for some time. Rev. C. E. Newberry preached the funeral sermon.
