Sarah Elaine Satterfield was born April 2, 1937 in Salisbury, MD and raised in Baltimore, MD. She graduated in 1955 from Frederick Douglass High School, in Baltimore, MD. She worked for 17 years at Murbeck Knitting Goods, two years at Mudrack Insurance Brokerage Insurance Company; she was a Teacher's Aide at Cherry St. School in Bridgeton, N.J., and she worked as an Administrative Aid for Health Services Cost Review Commission, for the state of Maryland from 1983 until her retirement in June 2006.

On February 4, 1984, she met her long time companion Mr. Willie Oliver. Together they shared many wonderful memories. She raised a number of siblings, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

She is a member of Zion Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD. She served as an Usher, Senior Ministry Bible School Teacher and she was the Frederick Douglass High School Class Reunion Coordinator in Baltimore, MD.

She is survived by her companion Willie R. Oliver of Killeen, TX; sons: Daniel Lee Satterfield Jr. of Greenville, SC, and Dominic Satterfield and wife Colleen of Buena, NJ; daughters: Donna Marie Hickman and husband Herman of Bridgeton, NJ, and Delise Bailey and husband David of Killeen, TX; brothers: Marion F. Adams and wife Ann of Baltimore, MD, and Greer Trippe of Baltimore, MD; sister: Hattie L. Washington and husband Joe of Baltimore, MD; sister-in-law: Charlotte "Carrie" Adams of Baltimore, MD; brother-in-law: George McCoy II of Stowcreek, NJ; fifteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Charles F. Adams and Hattie L. Washington, first husband: Daniel L. Satterfield Sr., brothers: Charles F. Adams Jr. and Theodore Kelley, sister: Hazel L. McCoy and sister-in-law Alma Kelley.
