She was a Soviet Russian opera singer (soprano). People's Artist of the USSR (1937). Her father Yegor Ye (Georgy) Derzhinsky, was a teacher of mathematics, Nikiforovna mother Mary (nee Cherkunova) from the nobility of the Kiev province. She was a cousin of N. Vilinskaya, and was great master of vocal art, "Golden Sopranos" at the Bolshoi Theater, one of the leading opera singers of his time.
