She was born August 9, 1929 in Bells, Tennessee to George Washington Butler and Verlie Hescoe Cook.
Ruth graduated from Bells High School and Lambeth College.
She married Fred J. Frey in March 1951.
List of hobbies and accomplishments: reading, Mahjong, Friends' Club Luncheons, listening to music, playing the piano, and collecting butterflies.
Ruth is survived by her children, George Frederick Frey, Wayne Alan Frey (Lois), and Zanette Clark (Mark); grandchildren, Karen, Kurtis, Brandon, and Jennifer; and her little cat, Tiger. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Frey, and son, Daniel Douglas Frey.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., with a viewing to be held at 1:00 p.m. All services will take place at Mountain View Memorial Estates Mortuary, 3115 East Bengal Boulevard (7800 South), Cottonwood Heights.
Interment at Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery.
