Darrell E. Fisher, age 65, of rural Lawrenceville, passed away Monday, November 04, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born March 20, 1948, in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of Eugene Fisher and Helen Irene (Pinkstaff) Fisher Higgins. He married Linda Wilson on October 14, 1967.
Darrell was an Elder of Rising Sun Christian Church. He was owner and operator of Big D Sales. He worked at Wabash Valley Service Company as an administrative assistant for 15 years. He was also a retired farmer and mechanic. Darrell was very active in the Lawrence County 4-H program where he served as a board member and a judge. He was in charge of security for the Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant. Darrell served on the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce as a board member, was a former township trustee, and an active member of the Russell-Lawrence-Ambraw Levee District. He enjoyed singing, but most of all he was a loving father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Linda, of rural Lawrenceville; two sons Kevin Fisher of St. Louis, Missouri and Keith (Kristie) Fisher of rural Lawrenceville; two daughters Carmen (David) Rains of Robinson, Illinois and Kimberly Fisher of rural Lawrenceville; one brother Ronald (Jane) Fisher of rural Lawrenceville; five grandchildren Cassandra Rains, Cierra Rains, Collin Rains, Karter Fisher and Karly Fisher; one step-brother Lowell (Bernie) Higgins, Jr. of Vincennes, Indiana and one step-sister Sheila (Richard) Perry of Vincennes, Indiana.
