FORMER KNOX CITY MAN DIED MONDAY NIGHT OF HEART ATTACK IN ST LOUIS

Howard Rufus Parrish, 44, of Arnold, formerly of Knox City, died unexpectedly at 10 o'clock Monday night February 16, 1970, in St Louis of an apparent heart attack. He was a truck driver for Middle West Freight Ways and a son of Mrs. Blanche Parrish of Knox City.

Funeral services were at 10:30 o'clock this morning at the Heiligtag Funeral Home at Arnold. Graveside services will be at 4 o'clock this afternoon at the Knox City Cemetery with the Reverends Garry Erickson and Delmas Norcross, both of Knox City, officiating and under the direction of the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home of Edina.

Besides his mother, Mr. Parrish is survived by his wife, Glenda, two sons and a daughter, Thomas Parrish of St Louis, James Parrish of near Knox City and Marsha Parrish of Knox City, five grandchildren and two step-daughters, Deborah and Lisa Kite.

A son of Rufus and Blanche Anderson Parrish, Howard R. Parrish was born Sept 12, 1925 in Knox County. His first marriage was May 29, 1943 to Miss Betty Jo Raymer of Edina and they were the parents of the two sons and daughter. Mr. Parrish was a veteran of WWII.

He was preceded in death by his father Dec 25 1958 and by two grandchildren.
