Edwin F., Lyons, 89, of Brooklawn, NJ, joined his wife Doris in Heaven on April 24, 2012.

LEGACY

A man who deeply loved his family and was guided by his faith in Christ is the legacy that Ed leaves for his family.

Ed was born in Camden and raised for a short time along the Jersey Shore before settling with his family in Brooklawn around 1934 where he remained for the rest of his life. Ed proudly served in the United States Army during World War II where he was awarded the American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, European-African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

Ed enjoyed 56 ½ years of marriage with his wife, Doris and together they raised four daughters that they loved very much. He worked for Tidewater Grain in Philadelphia for many years until his retirement in 1987. Ed was an active member of the Brooklawn United Methodist Church where he was a member since 1955 and served on various committees through the years.

Away from his work, Ed enjoyed spending days along the Jersey shore, body surfing and spending quality time with his family around him making wonderful memories.

Ed is the beloved husband of the late Doris; loving father of Carol (Tom) Frangicetto, Margaret "Peggy" (Dave)Bradshaw, Arlene (George)Shute and Denise (Ray) Dobbins; dear brother of Lura Denham, Peg Cook and brother in law of Thomas, Lucille and Mae Fuerneisen; grandfather of Colin(Samantha), Chris, Alison Frangicetto; Dave (Tara), Jen (Scott) Radley, Robert (Tracy), Steven, Jill Bradshaw; Greg (Sandy), Geoff (Keara), Adam (Colleen), Aaron (Kristin) Shute, Andrea Shute Eppehimer(Nick) and Jenai & Joshua Dobbins; great grandfather of Brennan, Faith and Victoria Shute, Brady and Peyton Shute, and Caden and Brynn Shute; Katie, Nora, David Bradshaw, Jack, Sam, Max, Radley, Abbey and Leah Bradshaw; Loving cousins include the Funk family and Rev. Albert Martin(Laurel)

FAREWELL SERVICE

Viewing Tuesday evening after 6: 30 and Wednesday morning after 9 AM in the Brooklawn United Methodist Church, 213 Maude Avenue (Maude & Hannevig Avenues), Brooklawn where his Funeral Service will follow on Wednesday morning at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Wenonah Cemetery, Mantua.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brooklawn United Methodist Van Ministry at the above listed address.
