Tracy W. Daniels Jr., 85, of St. Augustine, died on Jan. 21, 2013, at the Samantha Wilson Care Center. He was born and raised in St. Augustine, and was educated in St. Johns County schools, graduating from Excelsior High School. Tracy served his country in the U.S. Army, and at the age of 18, he moved to Philadelphia where he worked in the city"s parking enforcement division for more than 30 years. In 1980, he relocated back to Florida, to care for his mother. Tracy was a quiet and reserved gentleman, who was also an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs. He belonged to the SDW Smith Ancient City Mt. Horeb #20 Masonic Lodge of St. Augustine, the Elks Lodge, and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Above all, he was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle, and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his son, Marvin Daniels of Houston, Texas; a sister, Gladys Garris of St. Augustine; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, including great and great-great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service, with military honors, will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with Drucilla Singleton, officiating.
