Kathleen "Mutt" Moore, age 96, of Vine Street, Lenoir, formerly of Mulberry, died Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the residence. She was born November 23, 1916 in Caldwell County to the late Everett Mack and Mary Josephine Palmer Lamberth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis F. Moore; son, Roy "Buddy" Moore; daughter, Betty McMillon; son-in-law, Roger D. Tolbert; grand-daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Tolbert; sisters, Wilma Suddreth, Georgia Bowman, Virginia Lewis and Lucille Kerns; and cousin, LaVerne Jenkins. Mrs. Moore was retired from Broyhill Furniture Lenoir Chair # 3. She was a member of First Advent Christian Church of Lenoir. Her passion was quilting and reading. She loved being with family and grandkids and enjoyed going to the auction. Survivors include daughters, Joanne Carpenter and husband, Johnny of Hudson and Virginia Tolbert of Lenoir; daughter-in-law, Mildred Moore of Lenoir; sister, Mildred Sykes of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Keith McMillon of Lenoir, Denise Goble of Florida, Eric McMillon of Hickory, Anthony Tolbert of Goldsboro and Janet Ledbetter of Hudson; great-grandchildren, Darleen Quinn of Goldsboro, Kathleen Tolbert of Raleigh, Bryanna Ledbetter of Hudson, Haylea Ledbetter of Hudson and Keaton McMillon of Lenoir; and a great-great granddaughter, Carlee Quinn of Goldsboro. Funeral services were held Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Lynn Hawkins. Interment followed at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers was Keith McMillon, Eric McMillon, Keaton McMillon, Anthony Tolbert, Tim Ledbetter and Joe Moore. Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
