James Irva Kirby was the son of James Hamilton Kirby and Albany McCartney (also spelled McCarty). He died of heart failure, with secondary cause tuberculosis, in the sanatorium in Carlsbad, near San Angelo, Tom Green Co.

KIRBY, JAMES IRA

James Ira Kirby, 44, died at Sanatorium at 1:55 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be held at Compton's Chapel at 10 a.m. Monday, Rev. Richard A. Philpot officiating, burial in Rosemound Cemetery.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Bigham of Waco and Mrs. Mary Gates of Houston; one brother, M. T. Kirby of Waco.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Gates, Robert Gates, Willie Gates, Truman Smith, Nugent Coleman and Johnny Coleman.
