Thomas was born to Seth and Deborah (Perry) Pope and was the grandson of English immigrants, Thomas and Sarah (Jenny) Pope. He was married to Elizabeth Manser/Mansur in Charlestown, Massachusetts Bay Colony, on Dec. 7, 1687, by Thomas Graves. He died on March 6, 1710/1711.

He is shown as a mariner in the marriage record. He was the Master of the sloop, "Hopewell", sailing between Boston and Connecticut. It was partly owned by his father, Seth Pope, and was based in Dartmouth. Ref: "A History of the Dorchester Pope Family", Charles Henry Pope, published by author, Boston, Mass, 1888. (New England Historical Society)

Sources: House of Mansur, p. 12 (1926) and Rootsweb (Karen Mansir's notes). Death date from "The Diary of Thomas Robie (1688/9-1729)", provided by contributor Susan Whitworth (47900297).

Note: His grave has not been found but is presumed to be in the Acushnet Cemetery. But it is also possible that he died in Sandwich, Massachusetts and is buried near siblings in the Old Town Cemetery.
