Of Jackson passed away at Allegiance Health Friday, July 19, 2013 at the age of 56. Steven was the son of Gerald G. and Nancy (VanAkin) Hopkins. He was born October 19, 1956 in Albion, MI. Steve is survived by two children, daughter, Lindsey Marie Hopkins and her fiance, Jonathan Anderson; son, Jacob Steven Hopkins; his parents; two brothers, Dave (Julie), and Doug (Theresa) Hopkins; sister, Sharon (Scott) Hazard; two nieces and four nephews, David (Jen), Scott (Stacey), Ryan and Rachelle Hopkins, Danielle and Ben Hazard, and his beloved dog, Bailey Boondocks. Steve was a 1974 Western High School Graduate. He worked in the auto industry, in sales and mechanics. He loved spending time with his family, the outdoors, grilling, fishing and camping in the U.P. Steve enjoyed NASCAR and MSU sports. He had a great sense of humor, was loved by many and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. According to his wishes cremation will take place. A celebration of his life will be held at the Watson Funeral Chapel Tuesday, July 23, at 11:00 A.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association .
