Daughter of Charles Edgar and Lydia Ann (Paddock) Dennison. Lucy's father was killed while servicing in the Civil War. Lydia then married to Charles Crookston and the family located in Michigan. Here Lucy and her brother William J Dennison grew and married, and here her step-siblings Charles and Mary Crookston were born.

Lucy married 27 Jan 1880 in Mich to Orlando Florence Phillips. To their happy home were born seven children: D. Mayo, Grace Ruth, Thurman Allen, Guy Wendell, Harry Oliver, Edith M, and Lucille F "Lucy." Edith married to Grant Columbus Pletcher and Lucy married to Charles R Parker.
