Thomas Jr. had eleven children with wife Jude (no currently proven maiden name),
including Elijah, who gives a full account of the life of his grandfather(?), Captain Thomas,to noted historian Lyman C. Draper.
Tradition states that Elijah was the illegitimate son of Thomas Callaway Jr.
The family story has it that Elijah was left on the doorstep of Capt. Thomas who subsequently raised him.
For that reason, in Elijah's account to Draper, Elijah refers to Captain Thomas Callaway as "the author's father".
This has proven a problem for subsequent DAR applications as the correct service for Thomas Jr. has not yet been proven.
His children are:
Elijah m. Mary Cutbirth
John Farrar m. Sarah Hardin
Thomas F. m. Elizabeth Ray
two daughters(unnamed may have died young),
SHADRACK m. Mary Polly Council
James m. Sarah_
Frances m. Jesse Bartlett
