Martha G. Roark, age 86, of Saltville, died Friday, Feb 20, 1998 in Smyth County Community Hospital. She was a member of Little Flock Holiness Church and was the widow of Gus Roark. Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth Harris, Saltville; six sons, Dan Roark, Jackie Roark and Henry Roark, all of Saltville, Leon Roark and Oscar Roark, both of Rural Retreat, and Howard Roark, Marion; three brothers, Jay Griffey and James Edward Griffey, both of Maryland, and John Henry Griffey, Marion; one sister, Nannie Belle Fouse, Maryland; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great- grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb 23, in Buckeye Holiness Church with the Rev. Wade Kestner, the Rev. Donnie Stanley and the Rev. Paul Stanley officiating. Burial was in Elizabeth Cemetery. D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville was in charge of arrangements.
