Carolyn was the former wife of the late Art McCombs. She was a member of the Conway Cowboy Church, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, arts and crafts, and spending time with her family.
Carolyn was also preceded in death by two brothers; Edward and Ernest, four sisters; Hazel Grable, Georgia Visser, Jean Gleason, and Phyllis Kyriss.
She is survived by four children; Anita Langford (Mike), Beth Finch (Daniel), Ken McCombs (Mika) all of Vilonia, Carol Walters (Shannon) of Jacksonville, two sisters; Lois Carter, Helen Ingram, grandchildren; Clint Graham, Kami Adams, Mark Finch, Alisha Moody, Nathan Crockett, Beau Bradley, Amber McCombs, Samantha McCombs, Bo Walters, Brandon Walters, Brittany Walters, and seventeen great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held in her honor on Tuesday, November 5th, 2013 at 10:00am at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway, AR with Brother Shane Dickinson officiating.
Visitation will be held at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, on Monday evening from 6-8pm.
∼The 7th child (of 8) born to Buford Edward and Effie Lee Parks Yarbrough, born at home in Naylor , Arkansas. Her birth certificate shows Vilonia, Arkansas due to nearest town having a post office at that time.
Carolyn married Art McCombs on August 20, 1960 at the Faulkner County Courthouse in Arkansas. They raised four kids and lived in Arkansas and Iowa. Carolyn was an amazing woman - a wife, mom, cook, mechanic, builder, decorator, farmer and anything else she set her mind to or that needed doing. She loved to read, did multiple crafts, taught herself to play the guitar and was learning the violin. She loved music; country, bluegrass and old-time gospel, she grew up dancing and shared her love of music and dance with her children.
Art and Carolyn divorced in 1983 and she remarried twice: (1)Jerry Ray Mahan (2)Doyle Kirkendoll. She remained single in her later life and spent the days working her flower beds, doing multiple crafts, visiting friends and family, and spoiling her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Frank and Roy Ernest, four sisters: Hazel Ellen (Grable), Georgia Elizabeth (Visser), Thelma Jean (Gleason) and Phyllis Fay (Priest)and two husbands: Art and Jerry.
She is survived by three daughters: Anita Mae (Michael Langford), Beth Ann (Daniel Finch), Carol Jean (Shannon Walters) and one son: Kenneth Ray (Mika Bradley), one sister: Helen (Ingram) and one half-sister: Mary Lois (Carter)14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
