J W Biggers was born on October 17, 1911 in Robertson County, Tennessee, the son of James Thompson "Jim" Biggers (1888–1967) and his 1st wife Susan "Ethel" (Lawrence) Biggers (1889–1919).

He was a graduate of Columbia Military Academy, and he was married on May 15, 1937 in Dotsonville, Montgomery County, Tennessee to Frances Amelia Martin (1917-1997), the daughter of Bradley Anthony Martin III (1886–1956) and Mary Douglas "Polly" (Ewing) Martin.

A retired vendor and member of Madison Street United Methodist Church who was living at 244 Audubon Woods Road in Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee, J W was 70 years old passed away at home on May 31, 1982.

Survivors included his stepmother Helen Langford Biggers in Pleasant View, Tennessee, a married daughter of Clarksville and two grandchildren. {Since his obituary made no mention of a wife or a widow, it is suspected that he was separated or divorced at the time of his death.}

Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
