John D. Aumann, age 83, a resident of Manitowoc, entered into eternal life on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Bellin Memorial Hospital in Green Bay.
John was born on June 28, 1929 in Manitowoc to the late Ruben and Matilda Willda Aumann. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1947. On October 1, 1949, John married Vernette M. Schroeder at the former Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Vernette preceded him in death on December 29, 2008. John was employed as a machinist at Manitowoc Engineering until his retirement in 1991. He enjoyed playing football and baseball, trap shooting, hunting, training dogs, woodworking, gardening, and grafting fruit trees. John was a former member and officer of the Manitowoc Beagle Club.
Survivors include three sons: Randall Aumann, Milwaukee; Steven Aumann, Newton; Daniel (Mary Beth) Aumann, Marshfield; three granddaughters: Sarah Aumann, Heather (Alan) Skamfer, and Taylor Aumann; one grandson: Kenneth Aumann; also other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Vernette; and two sisters: Irene and Marie.
Private memorial services for the family will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel, 612 N. Water Street, Manitowoc.
