Curtis Eugene Hatcher, 87, of Westminster, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at his son's home in Chester.

Born Aug. 8, 1926, in Beckley, W.Va., he was the son of the late Vinson and Ludie Wills Hatcher. He was the husband of Blanche Montuore Hatcher, his wife of 68 years.

Curt was brother to:

1. Carl O. Hatcher (1912 - 1990)
2. Eva Mae Hatcher Bowling (1914 - 1975)
3. Claude D Hatcher (1916 - 2003)
4. Homer Hatcher (1919 - 2004)
5. Oscar E Hatcher (1921 - 1999)
6. Arland W. Hatcher (1924 - 2005)
7. Gladys Hatcher Cooper (1928 - )
8. Delmer Estel Hatcher (1931 - 1936)
9. Delsie Hatcher Stone Zornes

He was a Navy WWII veteran. He went from Camp Perry in Virginia to New York and then on to Europe. Curt met Blanche Montuore in Times Square in New York City, New York. Curt and Blanche were married on December 8, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York. They made their home in the Baltimore, Maryland area.

Curt and Blanche were the parents of two children:

1. Anthony Vincent Hatcher
2. Amelia Karen Hatcher Davis Frisch

Curt was retired from Baltimore Gas & Electric. He was a member of the American Legion, Post #31, in Westminster, and was a former member of Stone Chapel United Methodist Church.

He was an all-around handyman and enjoyed building birdhouses and woodworking. He was known to be always available to help anyone in need.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children and spouses Anthony "Tony" and Frances Hatcher, of Chester, and Amelia K. "Amy" and Norman Frisch, of Bethalto, Ill.; a sister, Delsie Zornes, of Beckley; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by eight siblings.
