Harold Francis Cunniff was the eldest son of John, and Catherine (Tabeling) Cunniff and an electrician by trade. On November 19, 1922, he married Mary Gertrude Graham at St. Eulalia's church in South Boston. They had two sons during their marriage. He died young of influenzal pneumonia (3 days) and rheumatic heart disease on February 6, 1929, in Roslindale.
