Sharon Kay Beck, 69, passed away at her home in Stallion Springs, at 9:10 a.m. on June 24. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 11 ,at 2:30 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 1201 Dubuque St., Sioux City, Iowa, with Pastor Gerry Bruhn officiating.
Internment will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, 29014 Lake Ave., Hinton, Iowa, (5 miles east of Hinton on C-60).
Sharon was born April 10, 1944, in Sioux City, Iowa, to George and Millie Richards of Hinton, Iowa.
She married Darrell Beck in Hinton and the couple have four children: Jeanette Beck of Sioux City, Iowa, Kristina Beck of Stallion Springs, Darren Beck of Omaha, Neb., Emily Beck Schott, of Eglin AFB Fla., and seven grandchildren: Gabriel, Erika, Tyler, Nicholas, Kylie, Sarah and Adam.
Along with other work, Sharon was very proud of her 25 years of teaching and cuing Round Dancing (choreographed ballroom dancing). She cued for all of the local Square Dance clubs, two Round Dance clubs (Reel & Rhythm and Funtasics) and for many Round Dance festivals in the Midwest as well as an Alaska cruise.
