James Monroe Hallum, 66, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013 at his home. He was born June 24, 1947 in Porter, Oklahoma to John Jay Hallum Sr. and Maurine Yochum Hallum. James grew up in Coweta where he attended school. He was a government certified welder and worked for Muskogee Metal Fab retiring in 2009.
James was known by many as "Mountain Man", a CB handle he had for many years. His hobbies included playing music, hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors. Most important to him was spending time with his family and friends. James married the love of his life, Georgie Ann Deringer, on July 26, 1980 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father, John Jay Hallum Sr.; his mother, Maurine Hallum Ammons; and his brother, John Jay Hallum Jr.
