Mary Strother was born March 31, 1922 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was at the United Presbyterian Orphan's Home. She was taken from the Home in September 1926, by Charles Martin Struther and Minnie Bell Struther of Grove City, Pennsylvania. Her father was a blacksmith. Her first job at the age of 16 was doing bookkeeping at a flour mill in Harrisville. After that she worked at the Grove City High School in the principles office scheduling classes. She took a two year secretarial class in collage. She married Anthony T. Strother on July, 21, 1945. She became a secretary for the Red Cross sending out telegrams. After her husband got out of the Marines they moved to Miami and she became a secretary for the Red Cross again for 6 months. After that she became pregnant and became a stay at home Mom. Mary went on to have three children Stanley, Suzanne, and Luanne. On July 1, 1992 her Husband passed away. They loved to travel and Mary has been to all 50 states. She had 4 Grandchildren: Lynnette Lee, Steven Strother, Stacy Strother, and Victoria Burg. 2 Great Grandchildren: Spencer Lee and Owen Lee.
