Gueydan: The family and friends of Loretta Ann Duncan are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on November 1, 2013 and embraced in the arms of Jesus. She was 68 years old. Loretta was born in Gueydan, LA to Alton Smith and Mary Potier on November 7, 1944. She was a homemaker and enjoyed painting, cooking, and dancing. She had a wonderful personality and loved to laugh and joke around. She enjoyed seeing people smile.

Loretta is survived by her mother, Mary Potier Broussard of Gueydan; one son, Wayne Duncan, Jr. and wife Claudia of Searcy, AK; two daughters, Mary Denine Poole of Baldknob, AK and Dena Cecile Willis and husband, Troy of McRae, AK; one brother, Raymond Smith and wife Melandia of Midland; a sister, Judy LeBlanc and husband, Tim of Gueydan; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Loretta now rests in Heaven with her father, Alton Smith; her first husband, Wayne Duncan, Sr.; and her lifelong companion, Walter Berry.

A memorial service to celebrate Loretta's life will be held at a later date.
