Rosie Geraldine Branch, 43, of Portland died Friday, April 23, 2004, in a vehicle accident on Highway 82 east of Hamburg. She was a lifelong resident of Portland, a teacher for 13 * years with the Hamburg School District and a member of New Light Baptist Church. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 348, the Arkansas Education Association and the National Education Association.

Survivors include one son, Jarrod Black of Portland; three daughters, Lashawna Branch of Lake Village, Destiny Branch of Portland and Danielle Warren of San Antonio, TX; her mother, Geraldine Curtis Mitchell of Montrose; eight brothers, Gregory Gillis and Jessie Mitchell, both of Montrose, James Mitchell of Oakland, CA, Fred Mitchell of Thelma, AL, Eddie Mitchell of San Antonio, Brandon Mitchell and Edmond Mitchell, both of Portland, OR and Tilon Mitchell of Dermott; nine sisters, Brenda Hargraves and Katina Mitchell, both of Portland, OR, Fannie Mitchell of St. Louis, MO, Mary Wilson of Fort Worth, TX, Coreen Mitchell and Dell Mitchell, both of Montrose, Alice Watts and Maud Ruth, both of Chicago, IL and Sylvia Drake of San Antonio; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Mitchell.

Funeral services were scheduled for Tuesday, April 27, at 1 p.m. at the Allbritton Elementary School gymnasium with Revs. William Caldwell, Arthur Haney and Paul Robinson officiating.

Burial was to follow services at Montrose Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.

Pallbearers were to be Charles Bynum, James Brown, Charles Woods, Darrius Young, Kevious Mitchell and Jermahn McGee. Honorary pallbearers were to be members of the Allbritton Elementary School faculty.
