Dale W. Avery, age 78, a Whitelaw resident, peacefully passed away Sunday
morning, January 27, 2013 and is now in the arms of his Lord.
He was born July 21, 1934 in Manitowoc, son of the late Donald and Amanda
(Thielbar) Avery. Dale was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class
of 1952. On December 3, 1955 he married the former Ruth Joy Bonk in Manitowoc.
Dale was employed with Union Local 107 as a Boilermaker/welder. He enjoyed
fishing, gardening, trap sooting and was a member of the Wood Turning Assoc-
iation. Dale was also a member of Faith Tabernacle Church in Genoa, Il.
Suvivors include his wife: Ruth Avery, Whitelaw, Wis: three daughters and two
sons-in-law; seven grandchildren; and a sister (private). Nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends also survive.
Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. A Memorial
Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at The Pfeffer
Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Memorial Service will be Pastor
Ron Perry. Burial of the cremated remains will be at Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc, at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, from 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 until 1:45 p.m.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, is assisting
the family with funeral arrangements.
Dale was blessed with 15 additional years of life after receiving the gift of
a heart transplant. He passed away at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center surrounded
by his loving wife and daughters. The family wishes to thank the thoracic-cardio
transplant team for all their care and support.
