Bessie E Capehart, 77, died Thursday Nov 9, 2000 in Ukiah. Mrs Capehart was born August 21, 1923 in Covelo. She had lived in the Ukiah area for 60 years and had been employed as a beautician, dress shop salesperson and bookkeeper. A family spokesperson said she will be remembered for over 45 years living at the bottom of the "U". Mrs Capehart loved feeding deer on her front lawn, gardening, playing cards, singing, good jokes and creating homemade crafts for everyone at Christmas. She had a passion for riding her horse while growing up in Covelo and her fondest memories were of the time "she lived on the hill." Survivors include daughter Dana, and husband Tom Bowman, of Sacramento, sister Marian Pace of Port Orford, Or. and granddaughter Maria Bowman of Sacramento. She was predeceased by her younger brother, Edward Azbill, and her husband Bob Capehart.
