Howard L. Abell, 66, of 1506 Avon Place, Owensboro, died Monday, November 5, 1984, at his home. He was born in Trigg County, was chief pharmacist at Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital, was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church and Daviess County Pharmaceutical Association, and was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Tillie E. Abell; two sons, Howard M. & Mark E. Abell; a daughter, Mary Abell Oberst, all of Owensboro; a grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Nathen Stiebel of Louisville. Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Catholic Church. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation after 2 p.m. today at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Passionist nuns, St. Joseph Monastery, 1420 Benita Ave., Owensboro, KY 42301.
