William J. Beckler, Retired Pipefitter

William J. Beckler, 73, of 1228 Sixth St., Lorain, was dead on arrival yesterday at St. Joseph Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack in his home.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pa, he had been a resident of Lorain for the past 65 years. He was a pipefitter by trde and had worked in construction for the past 30 years, retiring eight years ago.

A World War I Army veteran, he was a member of the Veterand of Foreign Wars Post No., 451; St. Joseph Church and also the Pipefitters Union, Local 120.

Surviving are his wife Anna (nee Webber); three sons, James, California, Ray & Harvey, both of Lorain; three daughter, Dorothy at home, Mrs Edward (Betty) Kish, and Mrs. Ron (Barbara) Hanna, both of Lorain; 12 grandchildren.

Friends may call the Reidy Scanlan Funeral Home Lorain, today from 7-9 and tomorrow from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Services will be held Thursday at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by services at 10 am in St. Joseph Church. The Rev Balthasar Kocsan will officiate. There will be a parish rosary service tomorrow at 7:30 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
