IRENE BREMER
Irene Bremer (nee Conrad), 86 of Elyria, died last evening at Elyria Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
She was a resident of the Elyria United Methodist Home, for 14 years and prior to that was a life time Lorain resident.
She retired in 1965 from the Journal as head proof reader after 17 years. Her late husband Victor, served as advertising manager of the Journal until his death in 1958.
Mrs. Bremer was a member of St, March Church Lorain.
Survivors include son Louis V. of Largo Fla., and Noel P of Union Lake Mich;, daughters Linda Shibley of Norwalk, Carolyn Stough of Mount Lebenon Pa, and Marcia Faris of Lorain, and 20 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by a brother Alvin in 1960; and sisters Leona Foley in 1983, and Fredrica Beckler in June 1989.
Friends will be recieved from 4-8pm tomorrow at the Riedy Scanlan Funeral Home Broadway at 21st St, Lorain where a Christian Wake service will be conducted. Rites will be at 9:30 am Thursday in the Funeral Home followd by 10:00 am Mass at St. Mary Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Contributions may be made to Elyria United Methodist Home 807 West Ave Elyria OH 44035."
